Purpose of Establishment |

We enhance the performance of Korean Ginseng, improve quality,
maintain export order, exchange various information,
and prepare joint responses to changes in the export environment
among members. Through these, we promote the export of
ginseng types and the sound development of the ginseng industry.

Under the Ginseng Industry Law Article 22 (Indication of Korean Ginseng, etc.), the Agricultural and Marine Products Quality Control Act Article 32 (Registration of Geographical Indication) and Article 39 (Post-Management of Items with Geographical Indication), and the regulations of the Enforcement Decree of the same Act Article 13 (Membership and Withdrawal of Members of a Geographical Indication Registered Corporation), the Korean Ginseng Association (Corporation), an incorporated association, is an obligee of registration of the geographical indication rights for “Korean” of Korean Ginseng. Follow-up management of the same geographical indications and all manufacturers/processors and sellers (including exporters) are members under the same membership and must indicate the registered name on the surface of the packaging of the item with geographical indications under Article 60 of enforcement rules of the same act (Method of Indicating Items with Geographical Indications). Therefore, they strive to improve the performance and the quality of Korean Ginseng and maintain order during export.
